This is an Original painting and collage.  

Creating original artwork is my favorite part of what I do. My studio is filled with bins and drawers overflowing with papers, fabrics, and all kinds of interesting bits and pieces. It's a wonderfully creative mess, and I love searching through my collection to find just the right textures and patterns for each painting.

Every piece begins with a simple idea, but that's only the starting point. As I paint, layer, tear, and arrange materials, the artwork takes on a life of its own. The composition evolves naturally, often ending up somewhere I never expected. That process of discovery is what makes creating so exciting—no two pieces are ever alike.

My original mixed-media paintings are created with layers of acrylic paint, hand-cut and torn papers, and textiles such as lace, doilies, burlap, and other fabrics. I often incorporate charcoal, ink, stamps, and a variety of mark-making techniques to build texture, depth, and visual interest. Occasionally, I add found objects such as vintage keys, knobs, or metal embellishments when they enhance the story of the piece.

Because each painting develops organically, every original is unique and may feature a different combination of materials.  I cannot reproduce an original exactly since I use various patterns and textures that I may no longer have.  So when you buy the original, you know you're getting a one-of-a-kind piece!
